Albino Penis Envy is the pale variant and generally the stronger of the two. Melmac is a Penis Envy derivative with a slightly different shape and a reputation for being a touch more social and less heavy, though heavy is relative in this family.

Malabar is the outlier here, an Indian coastal strain rather than a lab bred one, and people pick it for a warmer and more euphoric character rather than for raw strength.

How to approach a new strong strain

Take less than your usual number. If two grams is your standard, start at one and a quarter with anything on this page and treat the result as your new baseline for that strain. Potency varies between batches of the same strain by a factor of two to four, so even a strain you have had before deserves a cautious first dose from a new bag.

Which of these is the strongest?

By lab testing, Tidal Wave and Enigma sit at the top, with Albino Penis Envy close behind. That ranking is a general pattern rather than a guarantee, since batch to batch variation is large enough to reorder them. Treat any of the four as a strain where you cut your usual amount down.

How much less should I take than my usual dose?

Start around half to two thirds of what you would take of a common strain, and hold there for the full ninety minutes. The dose calculator on each strain page does this scaling for you using measured potency, and it errs low on purpose.

Why is Penis Envy so much stronger?

It is a slow growing, thick walled cubensis variety that consistently tests higher in psilocybin and psilocin than standard strains. The trade off is that it is harder to cultivate, which is why it costs more and why the family has stayed prestigious.

What is Enigma and why is it sold in 3.5 grams?

Enigma is a mutation that never forms a normal cap or stem and grows as a dense knot of tissue. It tests very high, so a smaller portion is a sensible unit. Do not treat 3.5 grams of Enigma as equivalent to 3.5 grams of a standard strain.

Does the strain really change the experience, or is it just potency?

Both, and potency is the larger factor. Experienced users consistently report character differences, more visual in one, more body heavy in another, but a lot of what gets described as strain character is really the effect of taking a stronger mushroom at the same weight.

How much does potency vary between batches?

Enough to matter. Competition and lab data on cubensis show two to four fold swings within the same strain depending on growing conditions and which part of the mushroom you eat. This is the single best argument for starting low every time you open a new bag.

Can I mix cannabis with a strong dose?

Not recommended. Cannabis reliably intensifies a psilocybin experience and makes it less predictable, and at these strengths that is a bad trade. If you are going to combine, do it at a low mushroom dose you already know well.

How should I store them?

Fully dried first, then airtight, away from light, heat and moisture. A food safe desiccant packet plus the freezer is the long term answer. If they feel soft or bendy, dry them further before sealing or they can spoil.
