5-MeO-DMT is a different animal from the more familiar N,N-DMT, and the After Life pen treats it that way. This is a short, intense vaporized experience built for people who already know their way around psychedelics.
What it is
5-MeO-DMT earned its ‘God molecule’ nickname for a reason. Where N,N-DMT throws you into a rush of vivid geometry and visuals, 5-MeO tends to strip all of that away and replace it with a total dissolution of self. There is often little to look at and everything to feel. The two molecules share a name and almost nothing else, so treat this as its own thing rather than a stronger version of what you already know.
The experience
Expect a fast onset and a short arc, usually over within minutes rather than hours. People describe a complete loss of the usual boundary between self and everything else, followed by a slow return. It can be overwhelming, and it is not a casual or recreational pen. Many find it more demanding than any dose of N,N-DMT they have tried.
How to use it
Take one small pull and stop. 5-MeO is active at a fraction of an N,N-DMT dose, so the same number of pulls that felt fine with another pen can be far too much here. Do not carry over your N,N-DMT dosing. Sit or lie down before you inhale, stay away from water, and never use it near driving or anything that needs your attention.
Staying safe
A sober, experienced sitter is strongly recommended, ideally someone who understands what a 5-MeO experience can look like from the outside. Set aside a calm, private space with nothing you can knock into. Give yourself time afterward to come back down before you make any decisions or go anywhere. If you are new to psychedelics entirely, this is not the place to start.
Who it suits
This pen is for experienced psychonauts who understand the difference between the two molecules and want the 5-MeO path specifically. died and came back to life on the toilet — If you are new to DMT and looking to try for the first time, there is a likelyhood that what you are looking for is NN-DMT, and NOT 5-MeO. These are two very different substances which Funguyz doesn’t really seem to emphasize. Make sure to do some research before you accidentally traumatize yourself! With that being said, I found that sub-breakthrough doses on this pen are massively uncomfortable and seemed to give both me and my buddy a weird headache. Breakthroughs are completely earth-shattering and out of this world, but definitely not as “fun” or colourful and more intense than NN-DMT. This is the kind of drug most people try once or twice in their life and are satisfied.
